Mango Kiwi Watercress Green Smoothie

Imagine a glass of this thick drippy wildness to begin your morning! It's a mess-o-fun that's finger licking good, start to finish! A great big nutrient dense way to start off your day! Get your greens on with a rich and creamy super foods smoothie everyday! Yum! So easy to create!

Mango Kiwi Watercress Green Smoothie
1/2 to 1 cup Coconut water
2 Tbs. Chia seeds
2 Tbs. Hemp seeds
2 1/2 Tbs. Fresh ground golden Flax seeds
1 tsp. Sesame seeds
1 tsp. Ceylon Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Turmeric
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
2 Tbs. Coconut shreds
1 Tsp Flax Oil
Very small handful Watercress
Small handful Dandelion and/or Kale
Small handful Pea and/or Alfalfa Sprouts
1 cup Mango (can be fresh or frozen)
1 -2 Kiwi with skin if organic
1 Banana
1/2 Avocado

All the fresh produce I used to create this green smoothie is organic, so there are none of the added toxins you get from conventional fruits and greens. Did you know that kiwi has more vitamin C than oranges, and that watercress is a cancer fighter? Organic whole foods are powerful. The skin of the kiwi is good for you, so if you purchased organic kiwi, cut off the ends and do not peel the nubby skin. Slice the kiwi and add to blender. Watercress is a bit spicy, so don't overdo adding the watercress leaves. Just a little and you will not notice the strong flavor at all. Fresh ground flax powder seems to also be a cancer fighter, so I always include it in my daily morning green smoothie mixture. Avocado is a good fat, and adding it into the fiber of the greens in this smoothie is a great combo for your health. Plus all the seeds and spices included within this smoothie do fantastic things for your body too! I store my chia, hemp, fresh ground flax seeds, and sesame seeds in the refrigerator. Let's make a super smoothie!

Add all the green smoothie ingredients in the order of the list above to a good blender. Blend for 15-30 seconds into your own thick and creamy super smoothie. Makes two glasses. Share the green love.

Optional: You can add your Vitamin D drops, or omega filled DHA/EPA drops to your glass if you are taking these supplements, after it is 3/4 filled with green smoothie. Then pour more smoothie over the drops, and you are then ready to drink up and smile.

Keep Calm And Juice On T-Shirt Is A Best Seller In The Queen's Table Shop!

By far the most popular t-shirt in The Queen's Table Shop is the 'Keep Calm and Juice On' design! People all over the country have purchased this top seller! Well as you know everyone should keep calm most of the time... and then remember to drink their fresh made green juice! Ha! In my Shop you can get some really cool tops, plus spread the word about your healthy green lifestyle choices! So join the fun others are having all over America! Keep Calm and Juice On! You know you want to!

Did you realize that I create the designs for the products in The Queens Table Shop? True, I am prejudiced about these product designs, as they are mine. Artists like to burn the late night coconut oil and make things! We just can't help it! So I will be sharing designs from the QT shop with you from time to time on the blog, because I love designing, buying, and wearing these high quality tops. I have had some of these Zazzle tops that I designed for my hubby's bands for years. After multiple washings they still look good. So I can highly recommend the quality of the material and the printing.

It is important to note when you choose the color and style of your 'Keep Calm And Juice On' top that this design can be purchased in either white or black lettering. If you prefer dark colors then choose the white lettering version. Want a light colored top? Then just choose the black lettered version of the popular 'Keep Calm' design. I did my best to use a similar lettering font and a crown that emulated the original WWII British poster. Oh, did the Queen mention a crown?

There are a variety of styles just in the t-shirts and fabrics that you can choose for the design to be placed upon. You can have this or any design added to men's, ladies, children, or infant styles. Of course I have many other designs in the Shop too, and I invite you to have a look around. I'm always open to suggestions for other designs you might want to see. It is simple to order online with the secure Zazzle interface, and pick your exact design, style, and size. Go to The Queen's Table Shop today so you can 'Keep Calm and Order On' the best t-shirts and tops! The Queen thanks you! The King thanks you! And your Green Fairy God Mother thanks you! You will be supporting the work of this blog with your purchase! FYI, I only make a few dollars per shirt, although every little bit helps with this healthy food blog project.

To learn the origin of 'The Keep Calm' design craze just check out the video below about the London WWII 'Keep Calm and Carry On' propaganda poster that started it all!

Sunny Light Pineapple Carrot Jicama Celery Juice. An Organic Tropical Delight!

This tropical delight is a much healthier orange colored juice than I gave to my kids in those sunny plastic bottles back in the eighties! As a mom I cringe at my old ignorant ways! Now that I know better by doing extensive research, I want my grandchildren to reap the benefits of a nutrient dense organic plant lifestyle. They are super intelligent kids (of course) and I want them to grow even smarter and stronger! Children's bodies need non-toxic foods and beverages! No dumbing down for them! So many parents are unaware of the dangers to our wee ones' growing brains from the overload of chemicals and toxins in our modern food supply. We know the little darlings love sweet things, so let's give them the very best goodies by making sure the food and fruits are organic.

Today's organic juice recipe came to be created because I forgot about the organic pineapple sitting behind all the produce... Yikes! I needed to make some juice quickly, before it was unusable. As a rule I generally juice only the core of the pineapple for its cancer fighting properties, and use the rest of this large sweet fruit in other dishes. Since this pineapple was ripe, it was ready to go! Then I wondered how much juice one pineapple would generate!? Hmmm... So that was the first part of the juicy scenario.

The second part of the juice plan was to add some compatible veggie items, along with something that would cut the overt sweetness of this juice down. Ripe pineapple is extremely sweet, and I did not want that huge of a sugar load on my sugar sensitive body. A big hunk of jicama added creaminess. Celery and lemon together took the edge off the sweetness. Adding carrots into the mix did not take away from the pineapple flavor either. These ingredients worked well together, and since the juice overall was still sweet, I drank this juice only in the morning. Now if you find the juice to be too sweet for you, just add some spring or sparkling water for a lighter tropical spritzer, and pour over ice. Tastes yummy if you are young, or 'eh hem' an older kid!

Pineapple Carrot Jicama Celery Juice

1 ripe organic pineapple
3 carrots
Half of a jicama peeled
5-6 celery stalks
1/2 lemon
1 inch ginger peeled

Optional
Turmeric
Ceylon Cinnamon

All ingredients are organic. Cut or twist off the top of the pineapple. After cutting off the top and bottom areas of the pineapple, I then cut long chunks of pineapple that would fit into the wide opening of my Breville Juicer. You can leave the skin on if your pineapple is organic. Do not leave skin on if it is not organic, as the fungicides stick into all those crevices of conventional pineapples. Eww. I decided to leave skin half on, and half off. The juicer will take care of straining the skin out. Don't forget to juice the core! This is the most important part!

WoW! This made a lot of juice! The pineapple juice alone filled the pitcher to the 850 mark! Doesn't it look cool before I mixed the juiced ingredients together! Psychedelic man! Then I gave the juice in the pitcher a stir and the orange carrot color became dominant as you can see in the photo below.

After hubby and I each had a glass of sunny sweetness, I put the leftover juice into mason jars. Simply fill the jars to the top to keep out the oxygen damage, and cover tightly. Keep in the refrigerator and you're all ready for the next morning. This recipe will make a great deal of juice, so you will have to share, or save for later! Not a bad thing!

Since we do not often buy whole pineapples this was a very sweet treat. The celery, jicama and lemon not only helped to cut down on the sweetness, they gave us a wider variety of nutrients. Ginger gives this juice zesty cancer fighting goodness along with the pineapple core! Adding Ceylon Cinnamon helps with the insulin spike. Healing Turmeric is always a great addition to any juice or smoothie. This fresh made juice is a healthy sunny pleasure full of tropical delight! Enjoy!

Got Questions? New Get Started / FAQ Page For Transition To Organic Plants Is Up! Plus The Top Ten Food Protocol Basics!

Food assumptions too? Heck yeah! Most people do. That is how we were trained by media and advertising to think about our industrialized food stuffs! Hopefully I got your answers right here on my reworked  'Get Started/FAQ Page!' After nearly two years on the healthy food path I have come to know the frequently asked questions most people have about the nutrient dense, plant strong, lifestyle. Since the old 'Get Started' page was not organized very well it was time for a big change! I needed to update how I handle all the questions you may naturally have, and get you on the road to wellness easily. How to do it? The simple TOP TEN Protocol Basics that the Queen follows everyday. The TOP 16 things to do while on transition to a healthier way of eating called the 'OVERVIEW.' ...and FAQ'S baby! Freakin' FAQ's!!!

Trying to get you to think about everyday food in a new way, and give you the answers to what you may mistakenly assume about organic foods, was the much needed FAQ part. Hopefully I do answer what you may be thinking. If not, please let me know what good questions to add. This huge labor of love has taken two months to complete! My hubby helped to code the page so that the questions can be clicked on, and then you will be taken directly down to my answer or opinion on each subject. He's cool like that. For some unknown reason the links do not work on mobile devices, and those of you who read web pages on phones will have to scroll down. This is more than you can read with a phone sized mobile device anyway, and you may consider using a laptop or desktop to get the knowledge effortlessly.

Making food choices through the 'Good/Better/Best' paradigm will be a simple way to assimilate an easier change in eating. In my passionate quest to help you understand the importance of everyday food choices upon your health, I have included a section with Dr. Fuhrman's recommendations, plus assorted related topic videos from other health researchers. I hope you will consider doing what is healthier for you and your family. Changing your food lifestyle now will save you money and grief in the long run. Don't wait till you are as sick as I was when I started! The body clock is ticking for dealing with the constant incoming toxins of processed and conventional foods.

After redoing my 'About Page' I really felt the pull to finish The Queen's Table Get Started/FAQ Page. This required design and illustration to break up the body copy of the page, plus it was a lot of information to cover. So I hope you actually go visit the the brand new page and read over the topics! It is there to guide you. Feel free to share with anyone you know that may benefit from the knowledge.

Now I have to get back to doing some website work for my hubby's biz over the next few months. Then afterwards I will continue to take each of my blog pages, and update the look as well as the information. A few smaller pages have already been reworked for style. I'll still be doing my regular QT blog and facebook posts. As always please continue to do research about what you are really eating, and do not rely solely on me. I am a seeker on my own journey, and this way has worked for me and others. You must always do what is best for your body, mind, and Spirit. I believe in your personal power. Get out there and Get Started! Rock your food sovereignty and health! "Let food be thy medicine." - Hippocrates

Speaking of why you want to learn about the food you eat everyday, here is a new song talking about what is going on within the food that is not organic. Give it a listen, and then get yourself over to my Get Started/FAQ Page to change your life and get away from the corporate controlled food madness!

Butternut Squash Apple Black Bean Stew

Oh those tastes of fall! Get your warm and cozy on with this sweet butternut squash stew. We received a butternut squash from the CSA, and I had planned on making a standard veggie soup similar to the Pumpkin black bean soup I made recently. As I was chopping the celery and onions, I went to reach for some carrots, and passed by my big bowl of apples. I stopped and thought to myself, "What would happen if I used only the butternut squash as the third mirepoix ingredient instead of the usual carrot with the celery and onion? Then instead of vegetable stock, add water, and put a few apples into the mix. Perhaps some raisins too. Hmmm. Sounds like those fall seasonal staples would work together to me!"

Yes they did! What a winner of a dinner at that! Hubby loved this stew/soup so much he stopped the movie we were watching, just to tell me how much he loved it! This is so very easy to make! Seems I never know whether to call these creations soups or stews. Especially this one with apples and raisins in the main dinner entree. Oh well, one thing is for sure... it is deliciousness! Enjoy this naturally sweet taste of fall with nutritious seasonal ingredients. Did I tell you that the leftovers get even better?  Mmmmm.

Butternut Apple Black Bean Stew

1 Butternut Squash
4 stalks celery
1 onion
2-3 apples (I used Gala, Granny Smith would work)
48 oz. spring water
1 can rinsed black beans
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cardamom
1/4 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp turmeric

Ingredients are organic. Wash, then peel the squash and apples. Chop the squash, celery, onions, and apples. Add to stock pot with 1/4 cup water to saute and sweat ingredients. Add spice, then the remainder of the water. Simmer for 30 minutes. Then remove about a cup and a half of the mixture. Mash it up and return it to the stew. Add the beans and raisins. Simmer for 30 minutes more. Adjust your spices, add more as needed for taste. Garnish with apple slices. Easy, sweet, light, and oh so wonderful. Don't forget to have a fresh salad, and drink a glass of fresh green juice! We are all about the power of great everyday nutrition!
